In some ways I feel like the ACC has already been doing it for years.

The schools that actively fill 100 thousand seat arenas have had a massive financial advantage over ACC schools for the past 25 years. We've watched Texas steal away North Carolina's coach. He's back now, but he was stolen away by Texas. We've seen Florida State's coach stolen away by Texas A&M. Michigan has stolen a football and basketball coach from West Virginia. I was praying that Penn State would steal away Mike London from Virginia, but they stole Vanderbilt's coach instead.

I know that there is going to be a bigger gap in television money coming up, but the ticket sales gap was already daunting before. So we need to work on reducing the Gap, but we shouldn't panic because we have a gap. We've always had a gap and will continue to have one.

It may look attractive to be a Rutgers or Maryland in the Big Ten, but the gap within the Big Ten is huge. Ohio State has so much more money than them even in the same conference. The gap top to bottom in the ACC is not as huge.

No. Not in the long term. Is the Alliance the answer? ** -- VT ChemE 1986 09/06/2021 12:14PM
